NedRink Community Partners

This project has a wide range of community partners, including:

The Town of Nederland owns the 2.5 acre parcel, and has designated it to be used specifically for an ice rink and tennis courts. The Town is committing $53,00 of in-kind services (equipment and personnel) to clear the site, widen the access road, and complete all excavation work. The Town will maintain the tennis courts during the summer.

Recreational Ice for Nederland Kids (R.I.N.K.) has been championing this project for over two years, and has found volunteers to provide landscape architect and architectural services. They have committed to raising $29,000 from the community, with $17,000 of that goal raised so far. As well, R.I.N.K. will recruit and organize the volunteers needed to help maintain the ice rink. Nearly 30 families are participating so far.

Peak to Peak Healthy Communities Project (PPHCP) will act as the project manager and donate $1,000 of in-kind services such as project management and meeting facilitation. PPHCP has established a successful working relationship with the Town of Nederland over several previous large community-based projects.

Great Outdoors Colorado awarded The Town of Nederland a 2004 GOCO grant, providing funding to help Nederland build and enhance outdoor recreational facilities for the community.

The Nederland Elementary school will be neighbors and a primary user of the skating and tennis facilities. Members of the school have volunteered to provide input and review.
